Founded in 2001, Berlin-based Context TV produces high quality non-fictional TV content, focusing on documentaries for the German and international markets. The company initially specialized in the area of scientific-historical expeditions and explorations, particularly underwater missions. . Productions in this genre include documentaries about the shipwrecks of the "Titanic" and the "Bismarck" (for ZDF and ABC/ USA, among others) as well as productions like "Project Alicia - Return to U-1195" (for ZDF, Discovery Networks Europe, WGBH-NOVA, Discovery Communications, among other) and "Exercise Tiger" (a co-production with Arte and ABC/USA).

Context TV has working relationships with most of the important German and numerous international broadcasters. The complete production process, from the initial idea to the final touches of post-production are realized by a small and efficient team of staff employees and freelancers in Berlin. Context TV has shown interest in the project from the beginning. They were in Tromsø when the last expedition was carried out, and since 2004 they have conducted extensive research on Amundsen and the disappearance of the Latham.
